How are US Federal court juries selected?

Are people chosen from within the judicial district of a given court, or can they be called as jurors to any part of the country? For example, I live in Michigan. Would I most likely be called just for a judicial district in Michigan, or could I conceivably be summoned to, say, Hawaii? And if I was asked to go to another state, would I have to cover travel costs myself?
