Why must alternative to Bush be a Democrat?

Honestly I don't support the Democratics just because they're of the opposite party from Bush. I really do like their policies better than the Republicans. I do understand your conundrum though and you are kind of right I suppose, but I think you'll find a lot of sincerely good things if you compare the Clinton administration (I'm actually for Barrack so don't accuse me of being preferential here) with either Bush administration. Beyond that, what we need is change and as far as that goes, someone calling themselves a progressive (like the Democratic Party) is probably going to do best.
