How do I write a small thesis about British English and American English?

In my personal library I have some five entire books on this topic. Even though I have lived in the USA for almost 30 years, I still spell using British English - even if college professors mark off for it. One professor told me point blank that British English is far superior as Americans have ised (not ized !!) the language thanks to Mr Noah Webster, so today, American English is vastly oversimplified (case in point: American "role" vs British "r�le") so anything regarding Mr Webster is a great starting point.
